Day Program Direct Support Professional
Location: Bethel, CT
Schedule: M 10A-5:15P, T 9:30A-4P, W 9A-5:15P, TH 9:30A-4P, F 9:15A-3P
Pay Rate: $18.50 /hour
At Ability Beyond, We are dedicated to supporting adults with various disabilities, and we are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Day Program team.
About the Role:
As a DSP, you will play a crucial role in empowering adults with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives. This position requires you to be comfortable working independently, making decisions on the spot, and adapting to changing circumstances. You will support individuals in their daily a ctivities, ensuring their safety , w ell-being, and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
Promoting independence, community integration, and peer socialization while enhancing personal life skill development
Collaborate with day program team to help individuals served achieve their goals based on their preferences and abilities
Help participate in community activities such as sports, going to the movies, shopping, walking in the park, volunteering in the community, etc. We love any creative ideas you have to make each day enjoyable!
Providing them with the skills necessary for increased independence within integrated community settings.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
Enthusiasm and a passion for helping others.
Interest in psychology, behavioral health, or mental health is a plus.
Willingness to learn.
