Project Description: INRMis a five-year task order (July 30, 2020 – July 30, 2025) under the United States AgencyforInternational Development (USAID) STARR II IDIQ. INRMis managed by theUSAID Land and Resource Governance (LRG) Division within theCenter for Natural Environment(CNE)in the Bureau for Resilience, Environment, and Food Security (REFS). Activities under this contract may be identified and funded by USAID Washington-based offices and/or by Missions. INRM supportsintegrated analysis and programming across development sectors. By using a multi-sectoral lens, INRM seeks to strengthen the impacts of USAID’s core environmental programming by recognizing synergies, adopting best practices, and building broader constituencies for integrated programming.INRMis designed to help USAID operating units achieve higher impact environment programming and to support the uptake of principles and approaches outlined in theAgency’sEnvironmental and Natural Resource Management Framework (https://www.usaid.gov/what-we-do/environment-and-global-climate-change/enrm-framework) .

Role’s Purpose: The consultant will support INRM in designing interactive and intuitive PDF documents, webpages, and other knowledge resources for INRM publications on an as-needed basis.

Objectives and Duties: The consultant will collaborate with INRM’s Communications and Knowledge Management (CKM) team to craft user-friendly and engaging knowledge products that help INRM’s target audience members find and use relevant information quickly and easily. The designer will produce publication layouts, interactive Google Docs or Slides resources, and webpages that convey technical information in clear and actionable ways. Products will include toolkits, high-level documents summarizing technical information, landing pages on USAID websites, and other kinds of knowledge products as needed. The products must incorporate good practices in user experience design, providing intuitive, targeted experiences for INRM’s audience members. Designs must adhere to USAID’s Graphic Standards Manual, while also maintaining consistency with other INRM publications. The design process will include several rounds of iterative design, creating mockups and prototypes that can be tested with target users, and working with the CKM team to refine the designs as needed and applied across each deliverable. The consultant will source imagery from INRM and USAID photo libraries as needed, with support from the CKM team.

Reporting: The consultant will report to the INRM CKM Director.
