Position Type: Support Staff Site Specific/Supplemental Programs Assistant Date Posted: 5/28/2024 Location: District Wide Closing Date: Until Filled Job Summary: The American Indian Education Coordinator provides direct services and support to students, families, and staff. The overarching focus of this position is to eliminate achievement disparities through oversight and implementation of the goals identified in the American Indian Education Aid Application. This is a part time position approximately 22 hours per week at a rate of $26.50/hour. Some nights and weekends are required. Most hours will be during the school year. The number of days and salary will be prorated for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Meet with American Indian students in small groups and lead activities that support and strengthen their cultural identity using culturally relevant materials, curriculum, and knowledge of tribal culture and languages Provide academic oversight and intervention to American Indian students that are not meeting grade level academic standards Support students and families at IEP meetings and conferences when necessary Act as a resource for incorporating inclusive practices and American Indian content standards in the classroom, including coordinating culturally appropriate training(s) and identifying resources and content materials Act as a communications liaison from parents to school or school to parents Organize and lead American Indian Parent Advisory Committee (AIPAC) meetings Coordinate community cultural events and community building activities Order supplies and materials in accordance with with identified plan and budget Other duties as assigned
