Job Summary:

The Sr. Maintenance Reliability Engineer will be responsible for ensuring continuous operation and reliability of various mechanical components across equipment and tools within the organization. Key duties include supporting scheduled maintenance and Operations on equipment issues, specifications, engineering practices, and MI engineering support of Inspection, while proficiently troubleshooting and providing solutions as needed to maintain operations. In addition, this role emphasizes proactive maintenance strategies, including Management of Change (MOC), addressing emergency maintenance fixes, and employing methodologies like the 5 Whys for all fixed, and rotating equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support scheduled maintenance activities for all equipment.

  • Support comprehensive maintenance schedules, coordinate with relevant teams or departments to ensure minimal disruption to operations, and work with Inspection and Maintenance according to established maintenance protocols.

  • Promptly respond to assess the situation, diagnose the root cause of the issue, and implement immediate corrective measures to restore functionality.

  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians, engineers, or external vendors to mobilize resources and expertise as needed.

  • Analyze the underlying causes of equipment emergencies to identify opportunities for preventive maintenance or reliability improvements, contributing to the overall enhancement of equipment reliability and performance.

  • Coordinate Root Cause Failure Analysis process and track the implementation of recommendations through resolution.

  • Utilize reliability tools such as code calculations, failure evaluations, cost analysis, and risk analysis to evaluate and prioritize reliability issues.

  • Participate in audits to measure the effectiveness of reliability related activities such as equipment repairs, parts quality, and the failure investigation process.

  • Conduct life cycle cost analysis on new and critical equipment.

  • Evaluate new tools and methods utilized for increasing plant reliability.

  • Assist in vendor reviews for ensuring equipment maintainability and availability.

  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines established by the Refinery and participate in safety meetings, programs, and field safety audits.

  • Mentor junior engineers.

Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

Typical Minimum Requirements: At least 5 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

Master’s degree or PE License preferred.

10+ years of Petrochemical or Refining industry, strongly preferred
