Job Opportunity: Wind Technician in Big Spring, TX

Express Employment Professionals is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Wind Technician in Big Spring, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and related equipment.
• Daily ascent of wind turbine towers using all required safety gear to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of the electrical and mechanical components of wind turbine generators and associated systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues; repair or replace faulty components as needed.
• Maintain company tools, facilities, and equipment to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Commit to a standard 40-hour workweek, with the possibility of scheduled and unscheduled overtime, especially during peak maintenance periods.
• Ensure all operational and maintenance activities adhere to safety policies and procedures established for the wind farm site.
• Assist in performing acceptance and performance tests post-maintenance or after outages.
• Carry out safety-related tasks and wind farm activities as assigned and provide backup support at other RWE locations when necessary.
• Support turbine maintenance tasks, including servicing, major component work and replacements, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Aid in Balance of Plant procedures as necessary, including maintenance of substations and collection systems.
• Uphold company values and behaviors in all work activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or relevant technical education.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb ladders unassisted, and work at heights over 80 meters (250 feet).
• Capability to lift and handle items weighing up to (100 pounds).
• Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring employer visa sponsorship, both now and in the future.
