SCHOOL DISTRICT 2 ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL - MIDDLE SCHOOL in BILLINGS, Montana

Billings School District 2 is seeking an Associate Principal for Ben Steele Middle School to assist the Principal in the smooth, efficient operation of the middle schools, including curriculum development, discipline of students, evaluation of instructional and non-instructional staff; Serve as liaison between employees, parents, the Principal, and the Executive Director of Secondary Education. Qualifications: - Master's degree and current Montana Class 3 Administrative Educator License with a Secondary Principal 5-12; Principal K-12; or Elementary Principal K-8 endorsement. - Current Montana Administrative Certificate, with appropriate endorsements. - Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience. - Successful teaching and administrative experience preferred. Duties may include but are not limited to the following: - Participate in the evaluation of instructional and non-instructional staff members, and assist in the analysis of performance of various other staff members. - Assist in the assignment of teachers to achieve the best possible educational environment of students. - Assist in the preparation and scheduling of effective and relevant teacher meetings. - Assist in the analysis of curriculum and recommend changes and in-service programs. - Assist in the purchases of appropriate materials to implement the instructional and support programs of the school. - Responsible for the inventory of materials, supplies, and instructional equipment in the school. - Responsible for policies and programs intended to assure the health and safety of all members of the student body, and provide leadership for the student body, which includes supervision and/or discipline where appropriate and maintenance of appropriate levels of behavior by all members of the group. - Assist in the organization and administration of the full range of extracurricular activities and sporting events as assigned by the Principal. - Maintain close contact with parents in order to better understand and communicate with students. - Maintain close association with the school community and provide leadership and direction for parent activities. - Propose schedules of classes and extracurricular activities, and participate in the preparation of student's schedules. - Assist the Principal in the general administration of the school and serve as Principal when the Principal is absent. - Serve with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities. - Assist in the development and achievement of curriculum goals and objectives. - Primarily responsible for school-wide data processing, which includes generating forms, class schedules, lists, and registration. - Act as Hearings Officer. - Ensure due process is applied. - As assigned, serve on District and in-building committees (School Quality Control, Title IX, etc.).
