Broome-Tioga BOCES Assistant Manager of Digital Content in Binghamton, New York

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Manager of Digital Content will support strategic planning and program development and oversee digital content strategies. This position involves supervising a professional staff dedicated to graphic design, photography, videography, digital and social media, and websites, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and content. Duties include:

  • Collaborate in developing and implementing services and procedures that support the department's strategic direction and operational efficiency.

  • Supervise and evaluate professional staff performance, maintaining optimal staffing levels to ensure program effectiveness.

  • Develop and oversee the program's administrative activities, including performance evaluation, goal setting, and workflow management.

  • Engage in budget planning, propose short and long-term financial plans, monitor expenditures, and manage records to ensure fiscal responsibility.

  • Work closely with direct reports to establish and achieve short and long-term goals, enhancing the department's digital presence and content delivery.

  • Draft and present reports on activities, progress, and challenges related to the assigned program, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • Foster collaboration across the organization to support the consistent application of policies and procedures, enhancing overall operational coherence.

  • Lead and manage projects related to graphic design, photography, videography, website design and management, social media, and digital media, ensuring project goals are met on time and within budget.

  • Oversee project billing processes, ensuring accurate invoicing and financial tracking.

  • Develop new services that enhance the department's digital content offerings, staying ahead of industry trends and audience needs.

  • Conduct regular evaluations and provide mentorship to direct reports, fostering professional growth and development within the team.

Job Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A) Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, public affairs, public relations, or closely related field and two years of experience in graphic design, video production, marketing, advertising, public information, or journalism; OR

B) Possession of an Associate’s Degree in journalism, communications, public affairs, public relations, or closely related field and four years of experience in graphic design, video production, marketing, advertising, public information, or journalism; OR

C) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and six years of experience in graphic design, video production, marketing, advertising, public information, or journalism,; OR

D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A), B), and C) above.

  • Broome County Civil Service Examination Required
