Within Global Regions ITMO, we are looking for a Principal IT Project Lead. The Principal IT Project Lead works independently with minimal supervision on larger, complex projects, programs, and portfolio (PPP) assignments. The Principal IT Project Lead takes full responsibility for the successful implementation of outcomes through effective organization and leadership, business case and benefits management, stakeholder management, risk management and issue resolution, planning and control, change management, and quality management (ensuring adherence to all Corporate and IT policies and standards). The Principal IT Project Lead directs and leads one or more PPP teams engaged in global initiatives across functional and regional organizations and contributes to the completion of project milestones. They adjust or recommend enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness.

The Principal IT Project Lead can also act as a Portfolio lead for a value stream, facilitating Portfolio Planning, Strategy & Portfolio Reviews, identifying opportunities for improved efficiency, identifying Portfolio Risks and mitigating them, providing visibility on Portfolio and Roadmap (which includes project and operational demand), preparing AOP Planning together with GR IT Lead & Business, and supporting PM/SM (according to standards) to manage demand.

A Day in the Life

We offer you a position where you develop and manage all facets of the PPP(s) from intake through implementation and closure. You ensure the PPP adheres to all Corporate and IT policies and standards and are responsible for effectively managing the constraints of project management: Scope, Cost, Schedule, Quality. As a Principal IT Project Lead, you provide technical and analytical guidance and recommendations to leadership governance bodies, communication & reporting, and keep current on advances and best practices in project management methodologies. You deliver and manage projects assigned and work with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. You may act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of lower-level professionals. Most of your time is spent on delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills acquired through advanced education. As a Principal IT Project Lead, you communicate primarily and frequently with internal & external contacts/stakeholders to share information, status, needs, and issues to inform, gain input, and support decision-making.

Skills/Competencies

As a Principal IT Project Lead, you take full responsibility for the definition, documentation, and successful completion of complex PPPs, typically with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies. You adopt and adapt project management methods and tools, selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches. You ensure that effective project control, change control, risk management, and testing processes are maintained. You monitor and control resources, revenue, and capital costs against the project budget and manage the expectations of all project stakeholders. As a Principal IT Project Lead, you have defined authority and accountability for actions and decisions within a significant area of work, including technical, financial, and quality aspects. You influence policy and strategy formation, initiate influential relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, and partners at senior management level, including industry leaders. You understand and communicate industry developments and the role and impact of technology in the employing organization. You take the initiative to keep your own and colleagues' skills up to date and you manage and mitigate risk.

Reporting & PPP Support

· Ensure timely delivery & quality of overall reporting and PPP deliverables.

· Responsible for monitoring and reporting on portfolio/project budget and resources.

· Challenge Project and Program Managers with respect to PPP deliverables timeliness, quality, accuracy, and integrity for the assigned portfolio.

· Prepare financial reporting and analysis (portfolio and projects).

· Attend meetings and make minutes of meetings as required.

· Timely escalation of issues to all relevant stakeholders (portfolio and projects).

· Support different types of projects such as Salesforce, SAP, Data & Analysis, AI space, etc.

· Release management support activities.

PPP Services

· Develop PPP plans (portfolio and projects) and proactively assist regular scheduling activities.

· Provide accurate PPP dashboard reporting & metrics (status on the triple constraints). Responsible for effectively managing the constraints of project management: Scope, Cost, Schedule.

· Provide guidance during the financial forecasting (budget) process and proactively assist regular financial management of portfolio and projects. Creation of POs, follow-up of SAP actuals, etc.

· Structure regular review and tollgate meetings for portfolio and projects.

· Prepare and conduct communication and/or escalations on the issues/risks and the required contingency/mitigation actions to the portfolio/project sponsor and stakeholders.

· Provides technical and analytical guidance and recommendations to leadership governance bodies.

· Secure documentation of all relevant PPP documents, decisions, and changes.

Improvements & Innovation

· Deliver proactive input into PPP Process (portfolio and project), Governance, and Documentation improvements.

· Drive the roll-out and embedding of PPP management methods (portfolio and project).

· Keeps current on advances and best practices in project management methodologies.

· Participate in initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the project management processes in cooperation with IT Means & Methods.

Must Haves

· Baccalaureate degree (or Master’s degree).

· 7+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of

· relevant experience.

· Fluent in English speaking & writing.

· Preferably multi-lingual (Portuguese _ Spanish)

· 3+ years of experience working with global stakeholders and business partners.

· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

· Financial savviness.

· Understanding of PPP systems (e.g., PlanView/PlanIsWare) and methodologies like PMP, Prince II, Agile/Scrum.

· Broad business understanding and deep understanding of own specialism(s).

· Able to perform highly complex work activities covering technical, financial, and quality.

· Knowledge/experience with PPP Management.

· Quick learner with a strong drive.

  • IT software development as a Scrum Master in a coaching/facilitating role.

· Able to perform different roles and flexible to adapt to project methodologies (PM, Agile, team coach, etc.).

· Flexible, pragmatic, structured, and stress-resistant.

· Hands-on, proactive & problem-solving attitude.
