HP is seeking an experienced embedded systems software development engineer to join the LaserJet Firmware Lab. The person in this role must have a background in embedded systems, firmware, and hardware. You must be experienced in C and C++ programming. You need to be team-oriented technical leader, with experience driving strategy across organizations. You must be innovative, possess a strong work ethic with a growth mindset, be quality-conscious, and have excellent communication and technical skills. This position will require you to work with engineers, architects, managers, and partners to develop innovative solutions to challenging technical problems. You will be part of a worldwide development team working on industry leading printers. The candidate must have strong technical leadership at a master level to solve complex problems and drive strategy. Leads development of new ideas and methods. Drives cross-functional initiatives, has vision for technology, and excellent executive communication.
Responsibilities
Own, develop and support timely delivery of architecture.
Enable clarity and compliance related to technical & non-functional requirements.
Design framework/components as enablers to deliver effective solutions across the print ecosystem.
Provide 'system-level' technical direction and review with development teams.
Strong understanding of platforms and technical leadership.
Breadth of knowledge of how 'systems' operate together from beginning to end.
Extensive knowledge of professional Laserjet product line.
Broad knowledge of the print pipeline (PDL, Print Controller, Engine Interface, Video, PQ).
Experience leading cross-organizational and geographically-distributed teams to deliver FW functionality.
Commitment to product quality and team development.
Experience communicating technical strategies and architectures to all levels of the organization, including executive communication.
Education & Experience Recommended
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or combination EE and CS.
Typically 10 - 15 years' experience.
Expertise with development languages such as C and C+* Extensive experience with operating system fundamentals and multi-core CPU embedded development.
Understanding of firmware development tools and infrastructure, including SCM and Application lifecycle management.
Understanding of firmware and hardware design principles.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum based development team.
Experience scripting with Python etc.
Excellent technical leadership and proven experience with technical writing and verbal communication skills.
