Robert Half Business Analyst (IT): IV (Lead)- in Boston, Massachusetts
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Business Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts. As a part of our dynamic Data Governance team, you will be responsible for understanding and managing our enterprise data assets and business processes. Your role will involve coordinating closely with data owners and technology partners to establish common data definitions, data management processes, and data quality rules.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in periodic data owner forums to discuss prioritization, initiative status, and issue resolution.
• Maintain the Business Glossary of data asset definitions.
• Identify, track, and document the Data Lineage of the data assets.
• Profile the data assets and build the business rules in partnership with the business that define fit-for-purpose Data Quality.
• Review Data Quality results and work with business and technology partners to resolve data issues and perform root cause analysis of underlying issues.
• Partner with technology to ensure that governed data assets are available to the wider enterprise in our company data repositories.
• Create and maintain business process flows and data mappings.
• Mentor and educate data users as needed.
• Utilize SQL skills to profile data and perform ongoing data analyses.
• Manage multiple project streams and deliver results across cross-functional teams. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, JavaScript, Java, and XML Technologies
• Familiarity with database and data management principles
• Experience in budget processes, finance, and hiring processes in the retail sector
• Proven ability to review, prioritize, and manage deliverables within specified timelines
• Knowledge of business process functions and business unit operations
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with partners
• Demonstrated ability in data analysis and data warehousing
• Proficiency in project management and ability to work onsite when required
• Previous experience in a business analyst role or similar
