The Colonnade Hotel Conference Services Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Job description: We are seeking an experienced hotel Conference Services Manager for a fast paced environment. Prospective candidate should have the following qualities: high energy, good attitude, team player, and ability to multitask and prioritize. Must be able to start the job with knowledge or experience from past hotel employment in catering or conference services. The Conference Services Manager coordinates all requirements for various conference groups booked by the Sales Department.  Responsible for enforcing the terms of sales letter of agreement and guiding meeting planners through the planning process.  Communicates the needs and expectations of the client with all departments in the hotel. Ensures successful execution of group and client satisfaction. We are looking for individuals who are able to evidence strong business acumen, have a proven track record displaying creativity and excellent communication skills. This is a Full Time - Onsite position.  Duties will include but are not limited to: * Establish rapport with and entertain meeting planners while promoting hotel facilities and services. Conduct planning meetings and site inspections as requested by clients and affiliates. Provide clients with a comprehensive knowledge of the hotel, including meeting space and hotel facilities, services, hours of operation, costs and limitations. * Service accounts as assigned by the sales department. This may include documenting and organizing all details of each function, providing hotel departments with a comprehensive and timely summary of client expectations and requirements, coordinating all department activities, and managing client account from start of client's program to finish when the master account has been settled. * Comprehensive room block management, forecasting and extensive use of our Delphi Sales Management system. * Plan and conduct Pre/Post convention meetings with clients and appropriate departments. * Monitor and support all client activity during the actual event. Meet with the customers at the end of every day to see if they have any changes for the next day. * Comprehensive and timely completion and distribution of all post-convention analysis and reports to both internal and external clients. * Personally contribute to, and support, the department and hotel's achievement of financial and customer service goals. * Other duties and projects as assigned.   Requirements: * Must have at least two (2) or more years of strong Catering Sales/Conference experience. * Previous experience in a Luxury Environment preferred, or other related/equivalent field may be considered. * Ability to analyze client needs, and negotiate pricing along with client requests. * CMP Certification preferred. * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. * Ability to establish and master goals and participate as a TEAM player. * Must be motivated and self driven to succeed. * Must have knowledge in all Microsoft Office and industry relevant Sales systems.
