Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Senior Business System Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is looking for a Lead Business Systems Analyst to join our IT Payment Integrity Value Stream. This is a terrific opportunity for an IT professional to work on a team who works with multiple departments supporting a variety of enterprise wide initiatives.

​ As a member of the Payment Integrity Value Stream, the Lead Business Analyst will be responsible to analyze all requirements related to Value Stream projects/initiatives and make recommendations as to BCBSMA’s interpretation of such requirements, prioritization of individual requirements, and work with leadership to establish a plan of action. This role is inherently cross-functional, and you should be an effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Sr. Business Analyst must be an independent learner, and a self-starter.

You should be a problem solver who is passionate about technology and enjoys working with engineering and data teams collaboratively, and equally comfortable interacting with business units on their business needs. You should be somebody who is eager to lead programs that have both broad influence and unique technical challenges to solve.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the business to develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for impacted systems

  • Supports writing epics, features, and stories for development team as needed

  • Supports writing requirements for multiple external software vendors

  • Estimates impact and prioritizes features and improvements for both digital and non-digital channels

  • Evaluates necessary requirements and identifies delivery approaches that optimize effort and resources

  • Works with business to understand product/program requirements

  • Works closely with solution architecture, engineering, external vendor, and data teams to deliver features to market

  • Manages upstream and downstream business communications related to product being developed and to meet critical business needs

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in systems or business analysis

  • Healthcare domain knowledge, particularly all aspects of provider information

  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and documenting

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience defining and executing against both short and long-term roadmap strategies

  • Experience leading and influencing (without direct oversight) cross-functional teams to deliver products and programs

  • Experience coordinating requirements across customer or stakeholder groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical and business concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners

  • High attention to detail including precise and effective stakeholder communication, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically

  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done

Salary Range: $116,640.00 - $142,560.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
