Boston Public Schools STIPEND OPPORTUNITY: Advanced Placement Special Projects Manager - Summer Stipend Position in Boston, Massachusetts

* This position is a stipended position and is only open to current employees whose current job status allows them to participate in these opportunities.* POSITION OVERVIEW: This position will reside in the Office of Secondary Schools in the Boston Public Schools, reporting to the Director of AP-IB Programs. The Advanced Placement (AP) Special Projects Manager (Summer 2024) will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and execution of key projects as they relate to the vision of AP Programming and providing access points for the students at Boston Public Schools. The AP Special Projects Manager will be directly involved in the execution of summer professional development for AP teachers, collaboratively design and develop district wide policies and procedures for AP teachers and courses, and contribute collaboratively to a district-wide audit plan for coursework with other departments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Support Summer Professional Development for AP teachers where needed Actively contribute to the development of a district-wide Audit Plan, led by the Academics department Design and develop standards of practice such as district-wide policies, procedures, and role descriptions for AP Coordinators, AP teachers, and AP courses while coordinating with appropriate stakeholders for approval Design, develop, and launch a website for the AP Office along with the AP Intern in order to create both an external resource (for families) as well as an internal resource (for BPS teachers, AP Coordinators, and School Leaders), which will serve as a central repository for information related to AP courses, training, policies, and other initiatives. Design and develop a Course Selection Toolkit for the district along with the AP Intern to create a family-facing resource that can be customized by schools, to be used during their Course Selection Timeframe. Anticipated Schedule July 8 - Aug 16 or 23, 2024 Anticipated 20-25 hours per week, with an anticipated duration of 6 or 7 weeks. Required Qualifications Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop partnerships and strategic relationships with a wide range of diverse constituents, communities and stakeholders. Extremely strong organizational and time management skills Ability to use Canva, Microsoft Suite Tools, Google Suite Tools, Zoom, and Calendly efficiently Stellar judgment, high-level project management, organizational skills and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
