Description

A leading Fortune 100 e-commerce enterprise is seeking a Senior UX Designer to join their post-purchase checkout team. This role involves working on a cutting-edge smart shopping cart that revolutionizes the grocery shopping experience by allowing users to bypass the checkout line through the use of advanced computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX research and design, focusing on creating impactful and user-friendly digital experiences.

Location: Boston, MA (hybrid-onsite 3 days/week)

Contract Duration: 11 months

Pay Rate: $45-50/hour

Hours: 40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research to validate designs and generate insights that drive product decisions.

  • Explore core emotions related to shopping, store navigation, time management, entertainment, health, and personal economics.

  • Collaborate with design, software, and product management teams to share research findings.

  • Gather insights on both physical and digital customer experiences, as well as merchant, associate, and fleet management tools and solutions.

  • Apply appropriate research methods, adapting as needed to align with organizational and product needs.

  • Iteratively evaluate solutions to achieve desired outcomes or validate hypotheses, making informed trade-offs as necessary.

  • Develop customer experience tools and frameworks, such as archetypes, journey maps, and knowledge management systems.

    Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Portfolio demonstrating impactful past work experience and deliverables, including generative and evaluative research, with a proven track record of managing and executing large research efforts from start to finish.

  • Expertise in qualitative research methods.

  • 3-5 years of experience with the full range of research methods (qualitative, behavioral, and attitudinal), with deep expertise in one or more areas, covering study design, test creation, moderation, analysis, reporting, etc.

  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting and incorporating research for physical environments, omnichannel experiences, and service design programs, including aspects of human factors.

  • Proficiency in remote research tools such as usertesting.com, Figma, and dScout.

  • Passion for working in environments where navigating ambiguity is the norm.
