Job Description

The Senior Manager, Information Security (IS) creates, implements and oversees identity management systems to meet specific security needs and complex compliance standards.

The person in this position ensures that IS and cyber security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures are aligned with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the organization's digital assets and data;

  • Overseeing the design and implementation of security measures to safeguard the organization's computer systems and networks from cyber threats and vulnerabilities;

  • Leading incident response and investigation efforts in the event of security breaches, and developing strategies to mitigate future risks;

  • Managing and conducting regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses;

  • Managing and reporting on IT budget allocation;

  • Direct management for IT team members;

  • Providing guidance and support to IT and other business units on security-related matters, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Critical Qualifications

  • College/University degree in information technology, information systems or any other related field;

  • Extensive experience: Minimum of 10 years in IT including 5 years in large corporate environment and minimum 2 years managing large projects in an enterprise space;

  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS benchmarks;

  • Proven track record of leading and managing information security teams, including setting strategic direction, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with security requirements;

  • Strong understanding of emerging cyber threats, security technologies, and industry trends, with the ability to provide strategic recommendations for enhancing the organization's security posture;

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex security concepts to non-technical audiences and collaborate with various business units to address security concerns;

  • People Management skills, and the ability to coordinate resources across multiple teams to assure delivery of corporate objectives and projects;

  • Bilingualism required in French and English (spoken and written): as part of his/her duties, this person will be required to interact in English with stakeholders outside Quebec.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control);

  • Experience in managing security incidents and conducting forensic investigations to address security breaches and incidents;

  • Knowledge of privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA, and experience in developing and implementing compliance strategies related to these regulations.
