Job Description

The Water Technologies and Solutions, Analytical Instruments product line business has an opportunity for a Business Development Representative on our Aftermarket team.

Position Purpose

In this role, the Aftermarket Business Development Representative is responsible for driving growth in the aftermarket product space by identifying, developing, and executing sales to drive an increase in services penetration and accelerate consumables revenue for current Sievers customers. This position requires strong commercial skills, ability to analyze customer revenue trends, and a general understanding of the life sciences industry and its customers. This role will collaborate closely with account managers (field sales), sales representatives, and the existing Aftermarket inside sales team to solicit new and expanded Aftermarket

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engage customers and prospects via Sales Engagement platform in Salesforce
  • Perform customer account analytics to identify new opportunities to sell services or consumables to customers
  • Create and modify value proposition messaging to customers to increase engagement
  • Contact customers via email, phone, or video meeting to discuss new business opportunities
  • Travel to customer locations where large Aftermarket opportunities exist to discuss value proposition and opportunities for growth
  • Negotiate deals to meet company and customer needs
  • Ability to sell through positioning solutions, building rapport with customers and influencing

Qualifications

  • Strong professional selling skills
  • Ability to answer technical questions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to analyze data for relevant patterns and opportunities
  • Clearly and effectively communicate both in writing and verbally with customers

Core Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of selling experience or other commercial related role
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce

Preferred:

  • Technical background in life sciences, engineering, biology, or chemistry
  • Proven track record of success in driving growth and revenue
  • Experience with Sales Engagement platform within Salesforce
