Responsibilities and Impact: You'll be a part of one of the highest growing teams within Market Intelligence and work alongside customers that drive markets globally. They are at the forefront of all data and service trends, and its important that we anticipate their needs to the best of our ability, then share that feedback throughout the org. While we chase our own personal growth goals, what our clients do affects everyone within SPGI - its important that we present ourselves as a top-notch partner throughout.

  • Work through assigned Market Intelligence accounts to provide daily support and ensure customers experience top notch service

  • Proactively anticipate needs of each user/group within our Strategic Accounts book via staying in touch with market news and trends

  • Develop relationships with users and leaders within each licensed department/group, positioning yourself as a partner and resource for them to bring problems to

  • Develop an outreach strategy to drive appointments with Sales-/Growth-focused colleagues

  • Follow up on leads and conduct research to identify potential prospects

  • Prepare and analyze sales pipeline reports and dashboards, and ensure data accurate within internal systems used for reporting purposes

  • Support trial reviews and contracting processes for new business opportunities alongside your Sales-focused counterpart

  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales/renewal funnels

  • Grow product and sales knowledge by sitting in with various team members, attending the demos you set, and asking for feedback on a regular basis.

  • Continuous learning to stay on top of tools, techniques, trends, understanding of the market, customers, and competition

  • Timely management of data for new and prospective clients within CRM, recording all communications, information is accurate, and documents attached.

  • Monitor and manager day-to-day time and priorities to deliver results

  • Work cohesively with internal stakeholders inside the Product, Marketing, and Finance divisions sharing intel and customer feedback in a timely manner.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $56,392 to $98,949. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

In a nutshell, the right candidate will be one who works well under pressure, thinks out-of-the-box, easily initiates relaxed but informative two-way conversations with customers, and is highly self-motivated. The team is spread out throughout the country (and around the globe) - someone who can anticipate and identify client needs is paramount. The right candidate will also understand how to assess a company's needs and cater the Outreach to each prospect specifically. Ultimately, we're looking for someone who understands that we collectively as a team have one goal - to support and grow our clients any way we can. We experience our wins and losses all the same...together as a team.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree  

  • 1-3 years of data/SaaS-focused Customer Service preferred

  • A proven track record of achieving quota, daily/weekly/monthly activity goals, research, and pipeline development goals

  • A proven track record of strong client relationships

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent client service skills

  • Goal and action orientated, with ability to work towards revenue targets within a business development environment 

  • Experience in dealing with challenging situations, i.e. objection handling and overcoming gatekeepers, and overcome rejection with charisma and courage

  • Solid organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills 

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to engage a senior level audience 

  • Strong MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills are required, and any knowledge of CRM databases (such as Salesforce.com) would be advantageous 

  • Knowledge of the financial industry and/or financial divisions/departments a plus

  • Collaborative and supportive. You love working with, listening to, and understanding others.
