The unit was formed on June 1, 2019 by merging the two entities Supply Chain Development and Global Manufacturing. Prior to 2019, the unit operated in two separateentities, known as GHS Tissue and GHS Personal Care.

About the Role
The Essity Global Supply Chain/Manufacturing team in North America is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Automation Specialist for our manufacturing location in Bowling Green, KY.
The preferred candidate should possess experience in automating supply chain operations, a comprehensive knowledge of warehouse logistics machinery, proficiency in electrical systems, and expertise in data analytics, with a strong foundation in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming. This position plays a pivotal role in optimizing operational effectiveness, cutting expenses, and elevating the overall performance of the supply chain.
Your responsibilities will include the installation, upkeep, and replacement of automation systems across the logistics network. The primary focus will be on robotics and expanding our robotic fleet. Additionally, you will diagnose and resolve issues with various component parts, such as motion sensors, control units, and photosensors, ensuring seamless functionality through adept PLC programming. Furthermore, you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for senior management and stakeholders, offering insights through detailed reports on existing automation capabilities and future enhancement opportunities, leveraging data analytics to identify trends, optimize processes, and drive informed decision-making.

What You Will Do
Automation and Process Improvement:
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline supply chain operations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the supply chain.
Integrate advanced technologies, such as robotics, IoT, and AI, into existing supply chain processes.
Electrical and Control Systems:
Develop and manage electrical control systems for warehouse and palletizing equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical and control systems in logistics operations, utilizing advanced PLC programming techniques to identify and rectify malfunctions promptly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC-based automation solutions seamlessly into existing warehouse infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for electrical systems.
Warehouse Logistics Equipment:
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of warehouse logistics equipment.
Ensure seamless integration between automated systems and warehouse operations.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select and procure appropriate logistics equipment.
Fine-tune the warehouse management system to optimize support for logistics operations.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data analytics to monitor and improve supply chain performance.
Generate reports and provide insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) and automation impact.
Use data-driven approaches to identify areas for further automation and improvement.
Training and Support:
Provide training and support to warehouse staff on new automation technologies and processes.
Develop training materials and conduct workshops to ensure smooth adoption of new systems.
Offer ongoing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
Who You Are
Minimum 2-year degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, robotics automation, or a closely related technical field.
Proven experience in supply chain automation and warehouse logistics.
Preferred, strong understanding of warehouse logistics equipment, including robotics, conveyors, palletizers, and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
Proficiency in electrical and control systems, including PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Experience with data analytics tools and software.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
