SUMMARY:

The position of Gun Drill Machinist will be to perform all set-up and operations functions of Gun Drill machines required to fabricate plates for the injection molding industry.

Please note: this position is for the day shift which operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and maintain Gun Drill machine

  • Familiar with latest CNC Machining strategies

  • Able to make machine adjustments, and conduct tool changeovers

  • Use basic inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, etc. to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by specifications

  • Align and secure work pieces in machine appropriately

  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

  • Select the appropriate tools and measuring equipment to complete finished parts

  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Run production in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • Post Secondary education in General Machining or equivalent working experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of strong experience as a machinist. Experience with Gun Drill a strong asset.

  • Specific experience operating a gun drill machine will be considered first, willing to train otherwise.

  • Experience programming using 2D/3D programming software.

  • Knowledge of mold making industry is an asset
