SUMMARY:
The position of Gun Drill Machinist will be to perform all set-up and operations functions of Gun Drill machines required to fabricate plates for the injection molding industry.
Please note: this position is for the day shift which operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate and maintain Gun Drill machine
Familiar with latest CNC Machining strategies
Able to make machine adjustments, and conduct tool changeovers
Use basic inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, etc. to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by specifications
Align and secure work pieces in machine appropriately
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Select the appropriate tools and measuring equipment to complete finished parts
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Run production in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Post Secondary education in General Machining or equivalent working experience
Minimum 3+ years of strong experience as a machinist. Experience with Gun Drill a strong asset.
Specific experience operating a gun drill machine will be considered first, willing to train otherwise.
Experience programming using 2D/3D programming software.
Knowledge of mold making industry is an asset
