Engineering Lead

At Amgen Breda medicines are labelled, assembled, stored and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people with 42 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

What you will do

As the Engineering Lead for our Equipment Engineering department, you will realize complex engineering projects and on tactical / operational level lead and manage a small team of engineers in designing, developing, and optimizing equipment and processes for our labeling and packaging facility. You will ensure that our processes meet the highest quality standards, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency goals. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Lead Equipment Engineering in designing, developing, and implementing new equipment and process improvements.

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis and Technical Investigations and improvement projects.

  • Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and budget management to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to align equipment and process development with company objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

  • Mentor and develop team members, encouraging a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

  • Stay ahead of with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions and innovations.

  • Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

  • Delegate to the Sr Manager Engineering.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).

  • Experience in equipment/process development preferably within a highly regulated environment, such as pharmaceutical, chemical or high-end food.

  • Proven track record of coaching and developing engineering teams.

  • Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
