Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is growing, and we have an excellent opportunity to hire a Geotechnical Practice Lead in our Bridgeport, WV office. We have a great, high energy, multidisciplined office that is conveniently located just off Interstate 79 within walking distance of multiple restaurants. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the geotechnical practice in West Virginia and leading the geotechnical and construction quality control (CQC) staff. You will conduct and manage geotechnical investigations, perform preliminary geological site reconnaissance, review testing results, and develop design recommendations. You will review and/or prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications, and develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction. It is anticipated that you will collaborate with other engineering disciplines on multidisciplinary projects, provide technical guidance during construction, and address field-related issues. You will ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and act as a mentor for junior staff, facilitating their technical and professional development. You will interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field(M.S. preferred); Minimum 12+ years of experience in planning for and completing geotechnical investigations, analyses, and report preparation; Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in West Virginia required; Demonstrated experience mentoring and growing geotechnical staff as well as supervising and mentoring field technician staff; Demonstrated experience collaborating on projects with other technical disciplines including civil site, ecological, structural, wastewater, and survey; Demonstrated success in the development and execution of business development strategies including creation of market/client intelligence, win themes, visitation schedules, client relationship management, and revenue generation.
