ST JOHN'S BANK & TRUST CO FT Teller II in BRIDGETON, Missouri

Purpose of Position:

Provide excellent and professional customer service. Process both business and individual banking transactions. Manage a cash drawer with high degree of accuracy. Follow proper policies and procedures. Maintain and promote customer relationships. Provide back-up to Personal Bankers as needed. Perform branch supervisory duties as needed.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions to include deposits, loan payments, checking/savings withdrawals, and cashing checks in either the bank lobby or drive-thru windows
  • Maintain an adequate cash drawer at all times, to include buying and selling currency to/from the branch vault as needed
  • Perform regulatory functions for those transactions which require them, such as Reg CC and BSA forms
  • Responsible for accurate daily balancing of a cash drawer
  • Sell Cashier Checks, Money Orders, and Official Bank Checks
  • Redeem Savings Bonds and process Cash Advances
  • Assist customers in accessing safety deposit boxes
  • Provide customer service that builds customer relationships, cross-sell bank products/services, and assist customers with problem resolution
  • Perform Personal Banking duties as needed
  • Perform supervisory duties to include, but not limited to, teller overrides, balancing of the branch vault, and branch opening/closing functions
  • Comply with all departmental and company policies, procedures and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months prior teller experience, or similar experience in positions requiring heavy cash handling and balancing
  • Previous Personal Banking experience, or the ability to cross-train as a Personal Banker within 6 months of hire
  • Detail-oriented, high degree of accuracy required
  • Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, and use of tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers or employees
  • Ability to make sound decisions
  • Ability to communicate with customers in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Good computer skills, to include MS Office Products
  • Extensive customer contact requiring proven skills in building relationships which will enhance the overall marketing effort of the Bank

** Requirements: Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily office activities. Grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination are required in using a computer keyboard and cash counting. Near, far, and color vision is used in reading documents and in using the computer. Hearing and speaking are required when providing phone and face-to-face service. The need to lift, drag and push files, paper, and documents weighing up to 50 pounds also is required. The incumbent often juggles multiple tasks, works under pressure of deadlines and with frequent interruptions. Risk is involved in handling money.
