DESCRIPTION OF WORK Your primary responsibility in this role involves reviewing, inspecting, and documenting highway construction projects under Highway Occupancy Permit regulations. You will ensure that proposed, ongoing, and completed work aligns with permit requirements, laws, policies, and specifications. Additionally, you will communicate and clarify requirements to a diverse range of stakeholders, including department and consultant associates, professionals, government officials, developers, contractors, and the general public, maintaining a professional demeanor and providing excellent customer service.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part time on an ad-hoc basis, at the supervisor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
