Job Description

The Manager, Business Data Analyst will play a crucial role in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to provide actionable insights that support strategic business initiatives to help shape the future of our brands. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, develop analytical solutions, and present findings to key stakeholders. The Manager, Business Data Analyst is extremely visible across the organization and is expected to be a dynamic partner to the various stakeholders involved in commercial activities including Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Finance, and Operations. The Manager, Business Data Analyst requires leveraging the various insights from these stakeholders to develop high quality analyses to help the company’s leadership make informed strategic decisions and choices.

Essential Functions

  • Collect, clean and preprocess data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Integrate and translate data-driven insights into opportunities and strategies that shape decisions and drive organizational action on new growth opportunities.

  • Develop and deliver clear, concise presentations that synthesize disparate into meaningful insights that help with decision making. Provide concise analyses that go beyond a presentation of the facts to include a discussion of the associated business implications and recommended course of action.

  • Demonstrate comfort with data analytics and strong modeling skills, effectively utilizing analytic tools.

  • In collaboration with other team members, identify and develop new datasets, tools, or methodologies that improve our understanding of our products, patients, and therapeutic areas.

  • Work with internal customers to understand their needs and provide support to help drive growth in their business.

  • Collaborate with analytics colleagues to incorporate competitive intelligence into their analysis.

  • Collaborate with business members to define KPIs and metrics, and track performance against targets.

  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions or challenges.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of data-driven strategies and initiatives.

  • Interpret data and present findings in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics roles such as Business Analyst with a strong focus on quantitative analysis

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to collect, clean and pre-process data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

  • Strong experience with development and maintenance of dashboards , reports and data visualizations using BI tools such as Excel, Power BI, and similar applications.

  • Ability to develop and test/challenge hypotheses and assumptions with data.

  • Innate intellectual curiosity demonstrating a desire to take initiative and work independently, and ability to think creatively to solve business problems.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with agility and flexibility where necessary.

    Preferences

  • Master’s Degree

  • 3+ years in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Broad and diverse therapeutic category experience: experience in specialty and/or rare diseases preferred

  • Proficiency in one or more of: SQL / Spark / R / Python

  • Design and construction of interactive dashboards (especially Power BI).

  • Experience with healthcare and pharmaceutical datasets (retail & specialty pharmacy sales data, hospital data sets, medical claims data, EMR, etc.) and standard secondary data sources (e.g., CMS, Symphony/IQVIA patient-level data, Premier, Marketscan/Truven, Medicare claims data)

Working Conditions

Located in the company’s home office in Bridgewater, NJ. The company currently operates in a hybrid working model, 2 days in the office, 3 days remote. This hybrid model could change based upon business needs. Travel of up to 10% may be required.
