Position classification

Hybrid -- Job duties and expectations allow for onsite and remote work scheduled every week. Employees in this classification are regularly scheduled onsite one (1) to four (4) days per week based on the County needs and as determined by Department Director. Hybrid classified roles can be onsite more than the set minimum based on employee preference.

What Success Looks Like In This Job

The successful candidate will focus on assisting the Special Events team for the executions of Adams County Events. This position will also perform and assist in a variety of technical and clerical duties involved with the planning and production of the Adams County Fair and other special events as assigned.

Examples of Duties for Success

  • Type a variety of correspondence forms and documents.

  • Distribution of fair packets to food and beverage vendors.

  • Assist in check in of food and beverage vendors.

  • Assist in Royalty Program.

  • Assist in the promotion of the Fair and Special Events at a variety of festivals throughout the summer.

  • Assist Special Events Manager in some aspects of Senior Day, Kids Day, Contests, Entertainment Program, Concerts and all special events and programs as necessary.

  • Assist Special Events Supervisor with special events throughout the summer, including Pride, Stars & Stripes Festival and the Fair.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    None.

Qualifications for Success

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and move up to 164 pounds occasionally.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Pro?cient in computer software.

  • Fantastic Customer Service skills and high expectations for quality.

  • Ability to work under high pressure situations.

  • Ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

More Qualifications for Success

  • Education and Training: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance in education.

  • Experience:

  • One year experience in customer service and working with the public.

  • Experience in the areas of bar/restaurant services and special events is desirable.

  • License or Certi?cate: Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.

  • Background Check : Must pass a criminal background check.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift beverage cases, possibly more than one at a time, (up to 60 pounds), frequently without assistance.

  • Ability to move up to 164 pounds occasionally.

  • Successful candidates may be required to pass a pre-placement/post o?er strengths assessment.

  • Work Schedule: Days and hours will vary and range from 24-40 hours per week, with weekends and nights included.

Employees in this benefit class are eligible based on the number of hours worked and the duration of employment.

Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the 457b deferred compensation plan:

  • Duration - 3 months or less

  • Weekly Hours - Any

  • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks

  • Lactation friendly certified workplace

    OR

  • Duration - Up to 12 months

  • Weekly Hours - 29 or less hours

  • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks

Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the the medical plan for the employee and child(ren) only as well as the 457b deferred compensation plan:

  • Duration - At least 3 months and up to 12 months

  • Weekly Hours - 30 or more

  • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
