The Role

The Control Systems Electrical Engineer will bring to this role specialized experience in electrical engineering with emphasis within control systems and industrial automation scope. Leading all site electrical projects, they will guide and direct the electrical team, driving process improvements, optimising preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with electrical standards and regulations.

This role requires working hours from approximately 6 am to 3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and guidance to the team to meet required project expectations and objectives (3 electricians, including the leading hand)

  • Build business cases and raise Capital project requests

  • Place orders and ensure all correct electrical parts are on hand

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to ensure the site runs smoothly

  • Respond to specific requests regarding the details of repair and or maintenance to equipment on a technical basis, both electrical and engineering concepts

  • When required, provide after-hours remote technical support to team and liaise with electricians if support is required on site

Key Skills

• PLC programming with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Schneider PLCs

• Skilled in Ignition / SCADA & HMI programming using Siemens WinCC, Allen Bradley FactoryTalk View, and Wonderware InTouch

• Experience in configuring and working with variable speed drives for complex applications.

• Knowledgeable in various industrial communication protocols such as Devicenet, Ethernet IP, ASCII and I/O link and Modbus

• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerBi, MS Project, MEX, or similar applications

• Experience in data modelling, visual analytics, and troubleshooting various communication protocols

• Experience in Pneumatic controls & design

About You

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)

  • Experience in implementing control systems projects & managing electrical maintenance

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to lead and supervise team members

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement principles - highly regarded
