About the Role:
The Flink Platform team is at the forefront of building a robust control plane for the Flink product, leveraging advanced database storage to ensure high reliability and efficiency. With a vision centered on innovation and excellence, this team is critical to advancing Confluent's Data in Motion initiative and is committed to supplying the industry with solutions that cater to evolving stream processing demands.
What You Will Do:
Develop a high-availability control plane architecture for Flink, ensuring it is resilient, scalable, and can manage the lifecycle of the necessary resources efficiently
You will play a crucial role in designing, developing and operationalizing high performance, scalable, reliable and resilient systems
Independently drive execution of software projects to deliver complex projects in production with a focus on quality
Troubleshoot issues and improve operations for complex technical stack that spans all the 3 clouds
What You Will Bring:
BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
5+ years of relevant experience
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
Experience building and operating large-scale systems
Solid understanding of basic systems operations (disk, network, operating systems, etc)
A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
Proficiency in Go, Python, C++, or other statically typed languages
What Gives You an Edge:
A strong background in distributed storage systems or databases
Familiarity with Kubernetes or other similar Container orchestration platforms
Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure and/or GCP)
