Oracle Software Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure in BRNO, Czech Republic

Job Description

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure team at Oracle-NetSuite in Brno. Being part of our team will give you an opportunity to have a direct and significant impact on the foundation upon which Oracle NetSuite is built - dealing with challenges in scalability, concurrency, high availability, and the definition and configuration of our Service Infrastructure. Our customer base and related infrastructure footprint continuously grows. Therefore, in this role, your main focus will be on engineering all necessary systems that allow our application suite to be delivered quickly, reliably, and using a repeatable and testable process. Focus will also be on Labs which are extensively used for analysis, development and verification purposes. You will help us modernize and improve user experience through simple and fully automatic deployment and configuration processes with a particular focus on Infrastructure as Code. Additionally, you will help define and develop the software, workflow, and tooling of our Continuous Integration and Deployment framework(s) in the Oracle Cloud.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • 3+ years of software engineering or related experience

  • Familiarity with tools and process for Infrastructure as Code, including SaltStack and Terraform

  • Experience with Python

  • Experience with shell scripting

  • Familiarity with container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience provisioning, deploying, and managing complex application deployments in IaaS environments (e.g. Amazon EC2, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)

  • Comfortable analyzing complex problems at all levels of the stack, on both client and server (OS, Network, JVM, Application/Browser/CLI, Storage).

  • Object oriented software development skills (Java, etc.)

  • ELK

  • Passion for high-quality code

  • Interest and enthusiasm for new technologies that can be applied to large-scale cloud systems

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
