Details: Job Title: Plant Director Location: Brooklyn Heights, OH Zip Code: 44131 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: $62.50 - $72.15/hr DoE Schedule: Fully Onsite Keywords: #OperationsManager #PlantDirector JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Oversees various business operations aspects of broad processes within the business unit/the global function * Creates plans, develops, and establishes policies to facilitate business units or business processes to meet objectives in accordance with strategic corporate direction * Collaborates with business unit leaders to formulate strategies that satisfy business and customer requirements * Performs data analysis from business unit processes and communicates metrics to upper management * Works within budget to allocate staff and other resources to ensure that operations run smoothly and best utilize available funding to meet department objectives * Develops and supports a cross-functional culture of continuous improvement * Schedules workload to meet priorities: achieving all performance-related targets * Leads and directs work for a team of employees as defined by business needs * Manages staff selection, performance, development, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations * Other responsibilities as assigned * Supervising 2 or more full-time employees (or equivalent). * Hiring and firing subordinate employees (or effectively recommending such decisions), interviewing, selecting, and training employees; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing employees" work; maintaining production records for use in supervision; appraising employees" productivity and efficiency for recommending promotions or other changes in status; handling employee complaints and grievances; disciplining employees; assigning work among employees; and providing for the safety and security of the employees. * Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance * Manage staff selection, interviewing, selecting of qualified candidates, training and staff development to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations. * Directing employees" work and establishing and adjusting hours of work as needed * Establishes priorities and workflow within the department; identifies root cause, conducts analysis, and resolves issues with appropriate resources departments and/or action plans * Provides staff with standards of performance, job responsibilities, and job expectations * Conducts staff meetings to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced, and when necessary, modified to address changing strategic objectives * Maintain production records for use in supervision; appraising employees" productivity standards and efficiency for recommending promotions or other changes in status * Ensures appropriate management of department staff, including timely completion of performance appraisals and corrective counseling, when appropriate * Responsible for overseeing all aspects of decommissioning. * Leading/coordinating the shutdown of operations * Transferring products to other facilities and creating a headcount wind-down staffing plan * Managing layoffs and employee transitions * Selling equipment, closing the plant, and ensuring the building is returned to the landlord in its original condition. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor"s Degree or a High School Diploma/GED OR * Appropriate certifications may be substituted for meeting educational requirements only. * 10 years of relevant experience is required * Experience leading (preferred) and/or participating in successfully managing plant closures, facility decommissioning, and asset disposition processes. * Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop
