Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an opening for a Administrative Services Intern located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville , Nebraska. Position closes 08/15/2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time or until filled. This position will report to the Administrative Services Superintendent.

Position Summary

This is a temporary position as a Document & Records Analyst intern located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, NE. Incumbent will provide support and conduct broad-based regulatory-driven functions such as processing and distributing station procedures, drawing revisions, archiving and indexing quality records. Duties follow diverse procedures and specialized standards. Requires independent judgement to establish priorities or alter work practices to meet commitments or deadlines. Customer service skills required for assisting site workers with retrieval of historical record information and procedure, controlled document and drawing distribution process. Incumbent conducts tasks such as tracking and processing station procedure changes and maintenance of the source procedure files. Customer service skills required for assisting site workers with navigation of the procedure change process and retrieval of historical procedure change data. Incumbent will be accountable for other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Education, Training and Experience

High School degree/GED and prefer a minimum of 60 hours college credits completed and currently enrolled in a degree program at a college or university and must maintain enrollment throughout the internship . College credit may apply to some internships. Preference will be given to individuals in a field of study in Business but not required major. Relevant experience and skills will be taken into consideration.

Relevant Experience/Skills:

  • Strong data entry skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Proficiency in various computer programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint

  • Experience in Visual Basic macro and template development highly desired

  • Strong customer service skills

Successfully obtain and maintain requirements for unescorted access to the facility and adhere to all station requirements and standards introduced during training modules and badging.

The ideal individual would be able to complete an assignment of up to 12 months. Assignment is on site (hybrid/telecommute options are not available) and flexible around class schedule.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Receive and prepare records for processing in accordance with the CNS Records Retention Schedule to ensure proper records storage and retention.

Index station records into SAP Records function per record type.

Scan station records in preparation to archive to microfilm.

Print drawing transmittals, distribute drawings to controlled set holders, track electronic acknowledgement in SAP per procedure.

Update controlled set of drawing aperture cards.

Prepare and distribute controlled documents to set holders.

Provide records and controlled document assistance to CNS staff for record and document submittals and retrieval.

Support teammates with human performance peer checks and development and use of aids to limit human errors in station procedures and records.

Perform procedure word-processing while upholding the integrity of station commitments and regulatory obligations, the procedure change process, procedure writer's guide, and established procedure templates and styles.

Proofread procedure changes and provide other peer checks per applicable Technical Support Group checklists.

Maintain procedure change tracking and history in IDOCS (Intranet Document Control System), the historical wpd, doc, docx, and pdf files, and procedures that are awaiting pre-implementation actions before they can be released.

Track ADMIN-PMs monthly for completion
