Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Scheduler - CNS located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville , Nebraska. Position closes Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.

Position Summary

The Scheduler provides scheduling support services to the Online Work Control Manager at CNS and is responsible for correctly scheduling all Online work. The Scheduler ensures that design changes and maintenance activities are correctly scheduled; ensuring work activities are logically tied within the identified work window. The Scheduler develops performance monitoring techniques to assist station managers in monitoring online performance. The Scheduler is responsible to assist in the development and track the progress of the pre-outage milestones. The Scheduler is responsible to develop and monitor/adjust online risk profiles for the schedule, working with the Risk group and WCCA’s. Generation of specialty reports for use in schedule analysis, as requested by the management team.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelors Degree in related field and a minimum of 4 years experience as described below

OR

Associate Degree in related field and a minimum of 8 years experience as described below

OR

High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 10 years experience as described below.

Experience in applicable business unit operations, engineering, maintenance, planning, or scheduling is required.

Demonstrated proficiency with automated planning, scheduling, and project management tools is desireable.

Demonstrated broad based understanding of work management processes and overall integration of NPPD's key enabling processes is required.

Note: Other work experience or demonstrated performance indicating that the applicant has the skills and ability to perform the required duties may be substituted for the specific years of experience.

Licenses and/or Certifications

SRO or RO license or SRO certification desired.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed integrated work schedules (daily, weekly, and outage).

Develop, review and revise work management guidelines and standards.

Coordinate the scheduled activities of multiple work groups.

Advise, direct, and coach other personnel in the skills of scheduling and resource loading.

Coordinate long term planning and scheduling efforts.

Monitor progress on schedules through communication with involved parties and report progress.

Analyze daily work to optimize equipment, system and resource availability.

Publish daily work shcedules and monitor progress.

Coordinate order operations and network activities with available capacities.

Stay current with applicable regulatory changes and ensure regulatory compliance.

Practice strict adherence to all safety practices for the work being scheduled.

Actively participate in group meetings, feedback sessions, etc.: striving for continued personal and overall process improvement.

Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.

Pay Grade - 14 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $7,746.00 - $9,876.00

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With frequent overnight stays, more than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
