ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/ SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST

Job Number: 87-0100 Department: 87-Infrastructure Pay: $3,407 per month $19.66 per hour Immediate Supervisor: Health Director

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time, non-exempt position (approximately 40 hours per week) working under the direction of the Health Director. The Administrative Assistant/Sustainability Specialist will assist in management of grant funding, revenue and personnel related to grant funding and other health functions to support public health development and sustainability. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood I SERVE Core Values. This position is grant funded and subject to funding renewal.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC WORK PERFORMED:

  • Assist with procurement processes for supplies related to grant activity and Health department support;
  • Track expenses, revenues, and billing for grant funding;
  • Assist with travel requisitions and mileage reimbursements;
  • Completes and files reporting for MAC funding.
  • Facilitates provider credentialing and bill with private insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid and patients;
  • Facilitates use of Medical Record system for departmental staff and maintains upkeep of system.
  • Research and assist in developing public health support and sustainability;
  • Provide assistance with administrative scheduling, meeting agendas and minutes, and documentation of training;
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIORNMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work indoors with occasional work outdoors.
  • Ability to walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary.
  • May be exposed to electrical, mechanical, or chemical hazards when operating/ maintaining office equipment and potential risk of exposure to communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens.
