CENTRAL TEXAS M H M R CENTER CASE MANAGER-IDD CRISIS INTERVENTIONIST-PT #TBD in Brownwood, Texas

**[General Description: [The IDD Crisis Interventionist (IDD CI) is under the supervision of the Lead IDD Crisis Intervention Specialist, with some latitude for independent judgment. They will also report to the Director of Crisis Services and Crisis assigned Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts when directed. The IDD CI seeks to support services provided by the Lead IDD Crisis Intervention Specialist, including the provision of information about IDD programs and services to individuals in the local service area. The IDD CI will work to identify individuals with IDD in the LIDDAs local service area who are at risk of requiring crisis or crisis follow-up services, and identify prevention strategies to avoid potential crisis events. Training and support will be provided to promote the individuals greatest chance of success of living in the community. The IDD CI will support the service coordinators provision of on-going follow- up and monitoring activities, including assisting providers of care, in addressing concerns and issues identified during follow-up and monitoring visits. When directed, the IDD CI must be available to provide consultation to an MCOT regarding a crisis event involving an individual with IDD and collaborate with an MCOT to develop criteria for referring an individual with IDD in crisis to crisis respite. When an individual is referred to IDD Crisis Respite, the IDD CI will provide services and objectives listed in the Respite Service Plan, as well as collaborate with service providers and natural supports regarding crisis follow-up and relapse prevention activities. Work requires aggressive intervention and frequent in-person contact with individuals, families, and service providers. Incumbent will be working closely with clients and must be able to lift in excess of 45 pounds. The work environment is such as to require sitting, walking, lifting, bending, and the full range of physical and mental activities normally associated with care giving. Schedule will require flexible hours, and require use of a Center vehicle.

**[Qualifications: [Applicants for this position must meet the minimum qualifications of a qualified intellectual disability professional as defined in 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), 483.430(a) and have at least two years of experience working with individuals with IDD who have mental health and behavior support needs or linking people with IDD to mental health supports, in addition to the one year of required experience of a qualified intellectual [disability professional described in 42 CFR , 483.430(a)(1). [At a minimum the applicant must have a Bachelors Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology or related field. It is preferred applicant have a masters degree or higher from an accredited college or university and meet the qualifications of a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who is supervised by a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Psychiatrist. The applicant may be a licensure applicant with a temporary social work license as long as the applicant is fully licensed within six months after hire. Professionalism in dealing with community officials is a must. Must display good oral and written communication skills. Computer skills are essential, and must be able to work in stressful situations. Position requires travel within a seven-county area while on call. A valid Texas Drivers License with driving record to comply with CFLR is essential. If selected, employee must give CFLR authorization to request copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Applicant must be able to satisfactorily complete required staff development training.
