Robert Half Collections Specialist in Budd Lake, New Jersey
Description We are in search of a Collections Specialist to be a part of our team in the transport industry, located in Budd Lake, New Jersey. The role involves monitoring customer accounts, identifying overdue accounts, and using various tools to locate customers. The position also includes maintaining records of customer interactions, resolving customer issues, and assisting with billing system enhancements.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor customer accounts receivables and identify overdue accounts
• Contact customers with overdue accounts and negotiate a payment plan or collect overdue amounts
• Utilize credit bureau data, post office information, internet searches and other tools to locate customers who have moved or changed phone numbers
• Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with customers, as well as payments collected
• Resolve customer issues and complaints related to billing
• Escalate issues to management when identified
• Communicate with customers via email and phone
• Assist in identifying process efficiencies and enhancing billing systems
• Research short payments and identify root causes
• Provide necessary reporting.
Skills required for this role include proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, Microsoft Excel, Billing Functions, Collection Processes, and excellent Customer Service. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Understanding of Collection Processes
• Previous role as a Collector
• Knowledge of Credit systems
• Exceptional Customer Service skills
• Experience in the Transport industry
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
