Job Description:

Initiate, prepare, and award bids/contracts in conformity with established health system purchasing policies. Negotiate price and product specification through interview, bid, or GPO. Assists in validating requirements for the procurement of supplies and equipment. Conducts contract negotiations with suppliers, researches products, pricing, and specifications. Prepares RFP's and oversees entire process through to contract execution.

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Materials Management or if no degree, a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in Purchasing. Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare preferred. Active member of the NAPM - certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound decision making and judgement. One to two years of Purchasing experience in addition to degree. If no degree, minimum of five years of progressively responsible positions in Purchasing. Microsoft Office Suite. Prior experience in automated materials system preferred.
