The Human Resources Consultant will be responsible for identifying client needs and developing progressive, forward-thinking HR strategies and services to meet client needs. Services for clients may range from tactical to strategic including providing general guidance and advice, or tasks such as setting up the HR function, developing policies and handbooks, acting as the outsourced Human Resources consultant, and special projects. The Human Resources Consultant may work remotely, from the main office, or at client locations. The position is approximately 50% remote and 50% onsite at clients in the Buffalo area.

Duties and Responsibilities: * Provides progressive, forward thinking HR consulting services for clients in all areas of Human Resources. * Assesses the needs of clients and potential clients and develops creative HR solutions to meet their needs and advance their businesses. * Designs and delivers HR training/education sessions for employees, HR professionals, supervisors, and managers. * Initiates and completes HR projects. * Performs onsite HR client support. * Maintains communication with clients on open matters, including maintaining updated SOPs and trackers of client activity. * Conducts research through various methods (data collection, surveys etc.) to identify information and solutions. * Provides advice and recommendations to clients for resolution of daily issues. * Formulates strategic and practical plans to address HR matters. * Tracks work hours and activities to develop client billing and for payroll purposes. * Continuously seeks out and learns HR best practices. * Assists with writing monthly and weekly publications. * May assist in the development of client proposals. * Other duties as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Proven experience as an HR generalist * Ability to independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision * Expertise in project management, preferably HR related * In-depth familiarity with HR principles, functions, methods and practices * Solid comprehension of research methods and analysis * Computer savvy with working familiarity with HRIS systems * Opportunity to strategize and formulate business plans * An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities * Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills * Client-centric, flexible, and deadline-oriented * Solution-focused, driven to meet and exceed client expectations * Self-starter, curious intellect, with the ability to manage competing demands

Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required * At least 7 years of progressive HR experience required * SHRM or related certificate preferred
