Location:

The individual in this role will support services in Central Kansas. Our Ideatek office is located in Buhler, Kansas at: 111 Old Mill Lane Buhler, Kansas.

Opportunity:

Our team is seeking a Splicing Technician to support business operations in surrounding communities. If you are hard working and have a passion for problem solving and delivering a high level of customer service, this opportunity may be for you!

We are offering a \$1,500 sign-on for this role after you have successfully completed two months!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Splicing fiber optic cables in mostly outdoor elements
  • Knowledge of and maintaining splicing schematics and spreadsheets
  • Take accurate splicing and field notes to help support project timelines
  • Provide an exceptional experience to customers by being friendly, patient, efficient
  • Working knowledge of aerial and underground fiber networks

Additional Responsibilities would include:

  • Deliver fiber to the home installations and repairs
  • Ability to troubleshoot customer connection issues
  • Install and repair VOIP services - Residential and Business Customers
  • Must be able to handle installations and repairs independently
  • Install drops from the service terminal to the home or business

Requirements

::: {bind="html: Job.Requirements"} Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license (with no restrictions)
  • Ability to work an on call rotation- including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work both underground and in aerial environments (i.e. climbing ladders and/or bucket truck)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various conditions
  • Ability to differentiate colors
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs

Preferences:

  • Prior experience in telecommunications

This role is not eligible for relocation.
