What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We have an opening for an Associate Scientist in our Predictive Biology group, located in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. Our team focuses on developing and implementing novel innovations that address some of the most pressing problems in bringing novel therapeutics antibodies to patients.

In this vital role you will focus on the development of an in vitro platform composed of patient derived cell lines and organoids that will allow us to better predict efficacy and safety liabilities in our Biologic drugs. Specifically, this role will involve the development, optimization, and maintenance of patient derived organoids (PDO) which will be used for screening the therapeutic potential of antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) candidates. Additionally, you will be asked to expand our capabilities through the creation of novel protocols for high content image-based screening for ADC using organoids.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments to develop and improve PDO cultures from different tissues in both normal and diseased states.

  • Perform expansion of cell and organoid cultures including biobanking

  • Characterize organoids by multi-color flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine secretion assays, confocal microscopy, RNASeq or related techniques.

  • Genetic engineering of PDO for target validation

  • Perform bioassay screens for evaluation of therapeutic antibody candidates

  • Maintain clear records of experimental details in a laboratory notebook.
