Aston Carter Hse Coordinator in BURNABY, British Columbia
Description:
Site HSE Coordinator (Construction Safety Officer) Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the Project Superintendent on-site throughout the construction phase
Promoting a culture of jobsite safety, where safety is everyone’s responsibility
Regularly monitoring safety compliance of workers and sub-contractors
Conducting site specific health and safety orientations for all new site workers and visitors
Facilitating and participating in site inspections, and implementing corrective action as required
Preparing site safety plans, conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments, as required
Ensuring all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties
Reviewing sub-contractors documentation for accuracy and providing feedback to personnel
Conducting safety meetings and toolbox talks
Maintaining and preparing thorough documentation and reports
Keeping management updated on issues that arise
Supporting HSE program, COR program
Administering first-aid as necessary
Assisting with labour duties and site maintenance
Performing other duties as assigned
-Proactive in identifying hazards and implementing corrective measures
- Demonstrated ability to keep detailed and accurate safety records
MUST HAVES
Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO)
Occupational First Aid Level II (OFA 2)
5+ years of Commercial CSO experience
Experience coordinating Large projects
Experience working with sites with Tower Cranes
Good knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines and standards
Reliable Transportation
SOFT SKILLS
Proactive
Detailed & Organized
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable, and able to use good judgement to manage the unexpected
