JOB PURPOSE

Our Supply Chain teams play a vital role in getting our goods to consumers; from sourcing raw materials to manufacturing and delivering the end product. You could be finding a new way to get 12,000 litres of ice cream across the desert without it melting; or designing a more efficient distribution network to enable us to store and deliver our products sustainably to our customers. Our Global Supply Chain includes approximately 100,000 employees who work with over 70,000 suppliers and 1.5 million farmers.  We manage a logistics network that transports across a distance of over 1.5 billion km a year.

In the UK & Ireland, we are home to the production of PG Tips, Magnum, Pot Noodle, Persil and many more. Looking forward, we want to embrace the digital revolution in order to build a more agile, integrated and synchronized Supply Chain. Be part of the most successful purpose-led business in the world and see the true impact that you’re having in the work you do. There’s always a new challenge to tackle and our people have the opportunity to make a big impact every day on a local level, across Europe and the world.

The role is based in Burton-Upon-Trent, proudly home to the production of Marmite and Bovril since the early 1900s. Since, the Burton Factory has expanded further to produce Hellmann’s, Colman’s and Pot Noodle Sachets. Onsite, there is a subsidised shop offering a selection of our Unilever products as well as free tea and coffee.

We are seeking experienced individuals to live your purpose in the work and drive our business forward in this exciting time, helping us to reduce losses, food waste, environmental impact, increase digitalisation and people development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Your team ensures a repair is performed in the shortest time possible, contributing to the MTTR KPI, and starting root cause analysis after the breakdown with enough information for the reliability team to implement preventive actions to eradicate the failure.

  • You will define the strategy to upskill the team, support their development and ensure they have the right level of hard and soft skills, so the factory achieve its objectives.

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the Shift Engineers and Technical Operators with a flexible approach.

  • You will be a decision maker, making decisions taking in consideration production, resources, and cost elements to achieve factory priorities and results.

Essential

  • NVQ L3 in Engineering and Post Apprenticeship skill level.

  • Previous experience with engineering leadership in a factory environment, including process, packaging, material handling and utilities systems.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.

What can I do?

If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.

Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!
