Phillips 66 Team Lead, Canada Crude in Calgary, Alberta

The Team Lead, Canada Crude , is a people leader within the Global Scheduling organization and reports to the Director, North American Crude Scheduling. This role is responsible for crude oil scheduling activities as well as supervising a team of Schedulers who manage commercial operations for Phillips 66 refinery and trading positions.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Leading and supervising a team of schedulers responsible for logistics associated with Supply and Trading activities for Canadian crude oils.

  • Conducting continuous coaching and talent enhancement for the scheduling team.

  • Performing nominations and daily scheduling requirements to meet commitments and avoid refinery or terminal containment events.

  • Maintaining accurate forecasts of supply/demand and inventory positions and manage inventory to annual targets.

  • Working across functions including Trading to optimize inventories, identify market opportunities and balance profit with operational risk.

  • Monitoring gains/losses of physical transactions and lead investigations into significant discrepancies with appropriate external and internal counterparties.

  • Providing vacation relief coverage as needed on a 24/7 basis and assist in managing Canadian Scheduler vacation relief plan.

  • Fostering strong external counterparty relationships in support of operations.

  • Distinguishing Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence and professionalism.

  • Leading our scheduling resources and system operation to maximize general interest value with consideration to profit and operational risk.

  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships across Phillips 66 organizations including VCO, Midstream, Refining and FP&A.

  • Ensuring operational procedures are up to date and followed including desk manuals, compliance and regulatory initiatives, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Able to work extended and non-standard hours.

  • 7 or more years of experience in downstream operations, analysis, business development and/or trading.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience.

  • 5 or more years of scheduling experience.

  • Proficient with SAP S/4 and analytical/support tools.

  • Good understanding of downstream operations, supply chain and value drivers.

  • Ability to analyze downstream businesses, markets, assets and focus on key economic drivers.

  • Outstanding analytical & problem-solving skills to drive value-added, business-focused decisions.

  • Collaborative team player with an ability to work constructively within a very close and often demanding team environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with capability of influencing others to achieve desired results and common goals.

  • Self-starter showing initiative, thinking outside the box, generating ideas and driving improvements.

  • High degree of ethics.

  • Dedication to achieve team goals, increase general interest value to the company and support internal and external customers.

  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and make continuous improvements.

  • Ability to set, manage and meet multiple and competing priorities are critical skills for this position.
