Job Overview

The Sr. Engineering Manager Digital Centre of Competency will report to the Sr Global Engineering Director, Cold Applied & Innolab and lead the globally based software and electronics engineering teams for Energy Division. This role will require strong leadership skills, and the ideal candidate should be an inspiring senior engineering leader with R&D, end to end innovation and project execution expertise.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage globally based teams working on electronics, embedded software, software architecture, testing and system and software design

  • Implement and lead all aspects of the hardware and software development lifecycle:

  • Requirements capture

  • Feasibility study and architecture definition

  • Integration and unit/ validation testing

  • Implement and lead all aspects related to electronic and software (cloud, embedded/application software &electronics hardware) product industrialization and quality, product sustaining and maintenance

  • Develop high performance solutions and platforms for our customers

  • People leader who can lead, motivate, develop and recruit top talent across multiple locations

  • Model and foster TE core values and behaviours

  • Builds trust with major stakeholders and delivers against agreed timelines, quality and cost targets

  • Builds strong relationships to drive business priorities and growth agenda both internally and externally

  • Empower team to grow and achieve results through supported development and coaching

  • Build future engineering capabilities and reward outstanding performance

  • Perform resource planning and prioritization for required activities and work with Engineering Centre of Competency leaders on resource requirements, planning and execution.

  • Monitor all business-critical engineering metrics with regular reports to management to show progress toward monthly/quarterly/annual goals

  • Establish & monitor budgets for all responsible activities

What your background should look like:

  • Engineering degree (2.1 or higher) in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, Electrical Engineering or related

  • 15+ years of related Engineering management experience, managing multi-disciplinary teams

  • Proven experience in hardware and software product development, industrialization and deployment

  • Skilled leader in communicating across a global organization with international teams, and excellent at working within different cultures

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Hands on experience in programming and modern agile SW toolsets

  • Familiarity with common stacks, web and cloud technologies

  • Experience in developing electronic and software products ideally for Energy market applications

  • Familiar with state-of-the-art project execution methods – (Scrum, Design Thinking, …)

  • Fluent communication skills (in English) facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business & technology leaders and external partners to create value.
