EMSL Analytical Inc. Laboratory Technician (Chemistry) in Carle Place, New York
EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Chemistry) in Carle Place, NY. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Preparation and digestion of environmental lead samples: paint, soil, wipes and cassettes by Flame AAPreparation and analysis of samples using ICPPerform standard and non-standard laboratory prep procedures according to internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for microbiology environmental samples received from clientsPrepare samples received for analysis for all departments, including fungal spore samplesKnowledge of laboratory safety and maintaining proper QC protocolsCleaning and Maintenance of lab equipmentOther laboratory and clerical duties such as waste disposal, answering phones, filing, scanning, copying, may be assigned by lab staff and manager as neededRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Science a plus, chemistry preferredOne to two years’ of previous academic or commercial lab experience a plusAcademic experience with Flame AA and/or ICP a plusCandidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work independently and with a teamMust be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignmentsMust have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skillsAvailable Shifts:Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.For consideration all applicants must apply through our company website: https://phf.tbe.taleo.net/phf02/ats/careers/v2/viewRequisition?org=EMSL&cws=40&rid=4337EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
