Associate Commodity Manager

Manage packaging and other assigned commodities for the Americas region. Identify and engage with internal stakeholders (product management, engineering, operations, quality) to capture commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality objectives. Responsible for developing & executing commodity strategies. Accountable for all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned commodity families. Engage with New Production Development (NPD) Supply Management Team to support new product development (NPD) program launches. Manage assigned projects/initiatives; including process improvements, standardization efforts, cost reduction initiatives, as needed.

What You Will Do:

  • Directly manage supplier relationships for assigned commodities.

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies and optimize total supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, and technology)

  • Lead, manage and execute all data collection, validation, analysis, and negotiation activities for the commodity(s)

  • Perform competitive analysis, industry benchmark, and opportunity assessments.

  • Analyze supply risk and develop risk mitigation plans.

  • Drive productivity initiatives with suppliers to assure inflation mitigation and recovery.

  • Monitor supply markets and periodically report trends.

  • Support Value Added, Value Engineering (VAVE) and continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain.

  • Lead current production cost reduction initiatives and future sourcing activities.

  • Collaborate with Commodity and Material Managers across regions to drive synergies and supplier exploration.

  • Lead the negotiation and management of key supplier contracts.

  • Manage overall relationship for key suppliers.

  • Communicate commodity agreements and strategies to stakeholders.

  • Conduct on-going supplier assessments and performance review meetings, monitor effectiveness of strategy, and make changes where appropriate.

  • Operate in a professional manner with the highest personal integrity, in accordance with Allegion’s Code of Conduct and compliance policies.

  • Experience with packaging materials, technical publications, and/or instruction sheets

  • Strong problem-solving skills and methods

  • Strong Project management and data analytics skills

  • Experience with supply chain tools, ERP, GEP, etc.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field

  • 2 to 4 years procurement / sourcing experience, project management, engineering, operations, consulting, quality, and/or analyst experience

  • ​Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel (e.g., excel pivot tables, macros, etc.) and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills and assessing supplier capability.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Salary Range: $75,600 - $98,700. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
