About the Role

This position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Decostar as described below:

Your Responsibilities

• To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.

• Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal, external customers and suppliers.

Who we are looking for

• To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.

• Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.

• Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.

• Immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.

• Complete all required safety-related inspections.

• Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.

• Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely

• Lead and participate in team activities to maintain and continuously improve on performance goals.

• Mentor Production supervisor to ensure team member compliance to control plans and work instructions.

• Direct changes and modifications to the control plan resulting from continuous improvement activities as well as internal or external customer requirements.

• Prepare management summary reports and trend charts detailing department key efficiency operating indicators.

• Communicate and liaison with Management all data as necessary to ensure timely resolution of quality and downtime issues, and to expedite the brainstorming and decision making process.

• Cooperate with Injection Molding Department, Paint Process, carrier change, maintenance and production scheduling to prevent the further processing of non-conforming product and the effective scheduling of the paint line. Initiate and verify effectiveness of action plans to prevent their reoccurrence.

• Establish hiring and training requirements for team leaders and team members to perform responsibilities effectively. Develop a monitoring system to gauge training effectiveness and to provide feedback to paint personnel.

• Assess the abilities of personnel and resources, and allocate them to the areas of their greatest expertise and utilization.

• Maintain daily schedules and weekly production requirements.

• Coordinate staffing needs and track time sheets and attendance through all shift Production supervisors.

• Ensure all overtime activities are approved.

• Ensure information systems and production data procedures are being followed.

• Ensure that training needs are being met with all personnel and that training procedures are being followed.

• Liaison with other departments in meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Leader

Your preferred qualifications

• Five years’ work related experience along with a Bachelors Degree in related field. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.

• Operational knowledge of management information systems, use of personal computers and application software.

• Six to eight years (6-8) extensive manufacturing management experience in a high volume, dynamic environment.

• Demonstrated organizational, communication, problem solving and people skills.
