We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Master Scheduling Manager within our Supply Planning team to help support our bedding business. As a Master Scheduling Manager you will have the opportunity to liaison between the business unit team and the branch supply planning partners to standardize and implement consistent supply planning processes across the group. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by improving our Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, and our manufacturing performance. The team you will be working with is experienced, knowledgeable, customer focused, and values making the operation run smoothly and efficiently.

So, what will you be doing as a Master Scheduling Manager?

  • Reengineer the S&OP process to align with Oliver Wight concepts regarding Rough Cut Capacity Planning and an appropriate time horizon of 4-18 months. In the process, simplify and streamline the effort required for the Supply Planning process.

  • Ensure a good balance of historical performance review and a focus on the key issues facing the business.

  • Enhance the S&OP process to provide better evaluations of warehouse and freight planning requirements. Use this information to support driving more cost-effective results and supporting key objectives of the Bedding restructuring initiative.

  • Work with the branch Master Schedulers to apply APICS best practices and develop procedures to use LPCS more effectively. Evaluate using the Master Schedule to complement the Demand Plan loaded into LPCS. Consider the use of Planning Bills and using LPCS to project raw material requirements.

  • Work with LBSO to standardize the use of the Operational Run Sequencing and Inventory Optimization in supply planning. Reinforce the concepts of cellular manufacturing and lean principles as applicable to US Spring.

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Have 5+ years as a Master Scheduler,

  • Sales and Operations Planning experience,

  • Enjoy working with a diverse team at multiple locations and willing to travel,

  • A passion to improve business processes, and

  • Successful at influencing people.

    Things we consider a plus:

  • Experience harvesting data from multiple systems, organizing, analyzing and drawing actionable business recommendations.
