About the role

  • The Sales Support manages the day-to-day administrative activities of the sales team to ensure effective support for the organization's sales force and the efficient processing of sales transactions. This includes providing support to either the MD or Regional Account Managers and their designated account teams, which involves creating presentations and reporting. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for addressing customer inquiries and needs, collaborating with Barry Callebaut resources for timely follow-up, and handling incoming inquiries from new customers by providing accurate information about our products and available alternative solutions.

    Key responsibilities include

  • Organize Account meetings and take care of practical arrangements for any customer site visit

  • Working closely with the credit team to follow up on deductions in a timely fashion.

  • Supporting the sales team on timely follow-up on complaints with quality assurance.

  • Participating in trade shows to meet customers, get familiar with external sales efforts and generate new leads.

  • Working with Sales Managers to develop in-depth customer knowledge of their customer base.

  • Booking contracts with certain customers, especially when the outside sales team is ‘on the road’.

  • Take minutes at meetings as required and distribute them promptly.

  • Support any of the assigned Account Managers in the following sales tasks: Customer demand forecasting, Contract Management, Solving pricing issues/invoice queries, actively managing aged stock lists and pushing sales directly or through the account team.

  • Update salesforce and master data as required for account changes and contact detail changes.

  • Provision of product information to customers e.g. brochures, specifications. Circulation and communication of market data on request from customers.

  • Handle customer creation requests, enter sample requests on the database and check that they have been executed on a timely basis.

  • Monitor the status of sales administration activities to identify problem areas and adapt procedures to improve the overall performance of the team.

  • Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in sales, marketing, finance, supply and logistics) to ensure that sales administration activities are integrated with other parts of the business and appropriate for current and future sales and marketing activities.

  • Support with basic inquiries, and sales activities e.g. training days, visits, and sample requests.

  • Actively help manage email traffic from the accounts to provide a fast and timely response on behalf of the Account Manager.

  • Coordinate follow-up of all projects for the key accounts and ensure that relevant deadlines are met.

    About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Business, Marketing or similar

  • 3+ years of relevant working experience in Sales

  • Knowledgeable of MS Office Suite

  • Strong numeracy skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • High entrepreneurial drive

  • Fluent in English, French and Arabic

  • Must use SAP. Sage X3 knowledge is highly appreciated

  • Experience in a similar “commodity type” Industry

  • Commercial support experience in value-added selling

  • Financial Understanding in Business
