Kemin Industries Process Engineer in Cavriago, Italy

Overview

Kemin Industries is seeking a Process Engineer for our location in Cavriago.

TheProcess Engineerwill support projects planning and execution, including development of new facilities, processes, and integration of acquisitions. The position will be responsible to supply Operations Directors in Italy primarily (but could support other EMEA and potentially global Operations) with engineering expertise and analysis to support project design and execution along with process optimization. He/she will lead continual development of standards of excellence and share best practices for engineering excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop/review/approve PFDs, P&IDs, batch cycle times, equipment/instrument datasheets and specifications.

  • Develop plant control logic.

  • Main point of contact with plant supervision providers and with E&I suppliers and contractors.

  • Manage engineering firms, as well as manage/collaborate with construction managers to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.

  • Approve equipment vendor selection and submittal drawings.

  • Inspect/approve field installations.

  • Develop commissioning plans and lead hands-on commissioning effort.

  • Develop start-up plans and provide on field start-up support.

  • Contribute to safety hazard reviews (HAZOP).

  • Collaborate with KI engineering group on projects and provide expertise, guidance, and recommendations on global projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Automation or electrical engineering university or high school degree (diploma di perito tecnico).

  • Highly interested in industrial process control systems.

  • 2 – 3 years of work experience in an industrial setting (food or life science industry preferred).

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in Italian and English.

  • Base location will be in Cavriago (Reggio Emilia) with possible travels mainly to the other sites located in North Italy.

    HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

  • 2 - 3 years of supervision software design experience (PLC, SCADA, Siemens TIA Portal).

  • Good 2D AutoCAD knowledge.

  • Capable of working with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Very flexible to work on multiple projects at one time. Comfortable in matrix organization.

  • Highly communicative and “teamcentric” to work closely with operations personnel.

  • Ability to travel in EMEA region if requested.
