This position is for a Manager, FP&A in the Mission Systems Operations Finance organization. This role will support the Mission Systems New Product Introduction (NPI) team and the Capital team. This role provides a great opportunity to network across our Operations organization and Mission Systems business. Daily interaction with Manufacturing, Program Management, and other Finance functions allows each analyst to influence perspectives and create value. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills and is detail oriented.

This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What YOU Will Do:

Responsibilities:

This analyst will work closely with Mission Systems Operations leaders in managing new product projects in SAP/COBRA and is responsible for reconciling, understanding and confirming financial data to support the monthly closing and quarterly forecast processes. This position will also be responsible for Capital project setup, analysis, reporting, and projections. The position also requires the ability to understand how Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Collins Aerospace finance policies apply to current business situations.

  • Execute financial analysis, budgets, and forecasts to support the Mission Systems new product development and capital teams.

  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports to develop observations and recommendations.

  • Analyze/communicate cost of programs during the development build phase as products transition to standard production.

  • Prepare Capital monthly forecast and annual operating plan, ensuring alignment to approved budget.

  • Submit Appropriation Requests for new Mission Systems’ Capital in accordance with Capital and DOA policies.

  • Setup, maintenance, and closure of Capital projects in Project Systems.

  • Communicate cost risk and opportunities to the business unit, along with internal communication to Manufacturing and Finance leadership teams.

  • Hold quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) meetings with the Business Unit Controller, Program Office, and Finance leadership to communicate impacts to the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.

  • Assist Program Managers in making business decisions and communicate cost variances used in negotiations with our customers.

  • Development of the annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range plan (LRP) commitments.

  • Utilize HP, SAP, Project Systems, COBRA, and GPD for budget and project analysis.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
