MTC Accountant, Finance (Purchasing Card Administrator) in Centerville, Utah

Position Summary:

Reports to the Director, Finance. Responsible for the company’s purchasing card program and functions, fixed asset tracking and depreciation, and a wide variety of technical and analytical accounting tasks and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversight and the management of all aspects of the purchasing card program, including system management, support users, set up cardholders, maintain MCC profiles, monitor transactions, review and monitor software integrations, and reconcile the purchasing card system transactions to the general ledger.

  • Maintain the fixed asset records in the financial system, record additions, disposals, and adjustments; calculate and post monthly depreciation; and reconcile the fixed assets subledger to the general ledger.

  • Create reconciliations and reports for tax depreciation purposes.

  • Develop and prepare reports, analysis, and user forms for areas of responsibility.

  • Create and maintain desk procedures, training material and provide training to others.

  • Responsible for the filing of personal property tax for various locations.

  • Post journal entries to the accounting system, review postings, and assist with monthly account reconciliations and appropriately resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist with month-end/year-end closing for all locations.

  • Provide positive, quality customer service to corporate/facility staff, cardholders and vendors by answering questions and resolving issues as they arise.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance and the enforcement of policies and procedures.

  • Maintain accountability of property; adheres to safety practices.

  • It is expected that the employee shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and

  • One year of accounting experience preferably in purchasing card programs and/or fixed assets.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.

  • Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new processes and information systems.

  • Must be willing and able to travel.

  • Interested in participating in a collaborative team environment.

  • Unless waived by management, valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
